Sister Shoubaki,
How would you rate al-Jurjani’s Israr-al-Balagah as a starting point for those who wish to learn and read about eloquence in Quran?
Jazak Allah!

al-Salaamu ‘alaykum,
Jazakum Allaahu khayran to everyone for their comments and emails. I’m a little more settled now so I will try to update more regularly in shaa’ Allaah, but I still do not have stable internet access, so please bear a little longer with any delays.
sheepoo, Asrar al-Balaghah is a little technical, unless the person has a good understanding of the Arabic language already and is not going to be phased by difficult texts, I would rather recommend they choose a more contemporary introduction to 3ilm al-ma3aani, 3ilm al-bayaan and 3ilm al-badee3 that use Qur’anic examples. There are a number of them on the market especially throughout the Arab countries, and I find all of them a good starting point in terms of language and structure both.
